not unemployed at all... on vacation(sabbatical)

Diablo 3 is really halting my progress... not going to lie its more fun to play a video game than program one. maybe it will be more fun to program it when I am a bit further along.

That all depends... the game is written in Java which is supported in Unix/Mac/PC, but unfortunately not phones/tablets/etc. I hope that someday they will change that and support java, but who knows. Since you asked about compatibility... I may as well share this also. I have thought about this a ton and have limited my game to the following resolutions:

Code: Select all

if(scrnsize.width < 800 || scrnsize.height < 600){
	logger.fatal("Resolution was too small: " + scrnsize.width + "x" + scrnsize.height);
} else if ((scrnsize.width >= 800 && scrnsize.width < 1024) && (scrnsize.height >= 600 && scrnsize.height < 768)){ //small
	//23x17
   //800, 600
} else if ((scrnsize.width >= 1024 && scrnsize.width <= 1280) && (scrnsize.height >= 768 && scrnsize.height < 1024)){ //medium
	//31x23
   //1024, 768
} else if ((scrnsize.width >= 1280 && scrnsize.width < 1440) && scrnsize.height >= 1024){ //large
	//39x29
   //1280, 1024
} else if (scrnsize.width >= 1440 && scrnsize.height >= 1024){ //wide
	//45x29
   //1440, 1024
}
The goal of this is to allow players with large monitors to enjoy Kisnard Online in full effect, but still allow those with smaller screens the ability to play. Yes players with larger resolution/screens will see more of the map/players/mobs/npcs, but this is how it will be. Not saying you do, but for those with issue on this... it is the 21st century buy a nice sized monitor... :)
